To send Shopify WhatsApp notifications, create order and checkout webhooks in Shopify that point to a connector in our panel. New, paid and fulfilled orders can then trigger WhatsApp templates such as a COD confirmation or a shipping alert, and checkouts trigger cart reminders. For SMS, Shopify Flow can call our API.
Send an order SMS with Flow's HTTP request
Create a Flow workflow with the trigger Order created and add the action Send HTTP request.

What you can automate for your Shopify store
Turn on the playbooks you need in our panel. Each one listens for events from your store and sends a Meta-approved WhatsApp template.
- COD order confirmation: asks the buyer to confirm a cash-on-delivery order before you dispatch it.
- Order shipped: a shipping alert with the order number and tracking details.
- Abandoned checkout recovery: WhatsApp reminders 1 hour and 24 hours after a checkout, with the checkout link.
- Review request: asks for a product review a few days after the order.
How to connect Shopify
You need admin access to the store and about fifteen minutes.
- In our panel, add a Shopify connector and copy its webhook URL.
- In Shopify admin, open Settings, then Notifications, then Webhooks, and create webhooks in JSON format for Order creation, Order payment and Order fulfillment.
- For abandoned-checkout reminders, also add Checkout creation and Checkout update.
- Copy the signing secret that Shopify shows below the webhook list into the connector, so we can verify every event.
- Turn on the playbooks and place a test order with your own number.
Sending SMS from Shopify with Flow
Shopify Flow can send an HTTP request when an order is created or fulfilled. Point that action at our REST API with your API key, sender ID and DLT template, and Flow sends an SMS for each order. This suits COD buyers and customers who do not use WhatsApp.
Keep the SMS text identical to your DLT template, with only the variables changing. The Flow body on this page shows the fields our API expects.
Why Indian Shopify stores confirm COD orders on WhatsApp
Cash on delivery is common in India, and orders that nobody meant to keep can come back as returns that cost the store courier charges. A quick WhatsApp check before dispatch lets buyers confirm or cancel with one tap, so you only ship orders people still want.
Send the confirmation soon after the order is placed, while the buyer still has the purchase in mind, and hold dispatch until it is confirmed.
What Shopify notifications cost
You pay for WhatsApp messages on your WhatsApp plan, from ₹999 a month. Order, COD and shipping updates are utility messages at ₹0.12 to ₹0.16, and checkout reminders are marketing messages at ₹0.88 to ₹0.98.
SMS sent through Flow costs ₹0.15 to ₹0.20 per delivered SMS, with plans from 5,000 SMS. GST at 18% is extra.

Do I need to install a Shopify app?
No app is needed for the webhook connection. You create the webhooks in Shopify's settings and paste the connector URL. For SMS, Shopify Flow's HTTP request action calls our API.
How do abandoned checkout reminders work?
Checkout events from Shopify trigger the abandoned-cart playbook, which sends WhatsApp reminders 1 hour and 24 hours later with the checkout link. Only message shoppers who shared their number and agreed to hear from you.
