SMS Service for Travel and Hotels, From Booking to Checkout
Our SMS service for travel and hotels sends booking confirmations, check-in instructions, pickup driver details, schedule changes and feedback requests to guests in India and abroad, triggered from your PMS, booking engine or ticketing system.

Hotels, resorts, travel agents, bus operators and tour companies use SMS to confirm bookings, share check-in or boarding details, send driver and pickup information, announce delays or cancellations and request feedback after the stay. These are service messages and reach DND numbers. Holiday package offers are promotional and must follow the 10am to 9pm rule.

Where an SMS service for travel and hotels makes the stay easier
Travellers want short, clear information at each step: what they booked, where to go, who will pick them up and what to do if plans change. An SMS service for travel and hotels gives them that without needing data on a hill road or an app download.
A resort in Ooty or Munnar can send the check-in time, a whitelisted map link and the front desk number the day before arrival, then the driver details on the morning of pickup. A bus operator in Coimbatore can text boarding point and coach number, and send a delay alert when a highway is blocked.
Travel messages and their routes
Guest communication is service traffic as long as it relates to a booking.
- Booking confirmation, payment received, voucher link: service implicit, -S header.
- Check-in instructions, pickup driver and vehicle details: service implicit.
- Bus or tour delay, cancellation and refund: service implicit, any time of day.
- Feedback request after checkout: service implicit, sent within a day.
- Holiday packages and off-season offers: promotional, -P header, 10am to 9pm.

Guest data and overseas travellers
Collect consent at booking for marketing messages and keep it separate from booking alerts. Do not send room numbers in SMS, since guests may forward messages or leave phones unlocked. Share the room at the desk or through the guest's secure booking page.
Foreign guests and NRIs often book with international numbers. DLT rules apply to Indian numbers; international numbers need our international SMS route, priced on request. For pilgrim and tour groups, send updates to the group leader and to each traveller so nobody misses a meeting time.
Peak season, festivals and last-minute changes
Hill stations fill up during summer holidays, Pongal, Onam and Christmas, and bus operators run extra services on long weekends. Prepare templates for cancellations, rescheduled departures and weather delays before the season starts, so your team only changes variable values when something goes wrong.
Schedule pre-arrival messages for a fixed time each evening and pickup messages for early morning. Use the delivery reports to spot guests whose numbers failed, and call them at the desk before they arrive. For pilgrimage tours to Sabarimala, Tirupati or Velankanni, a short morning SMS with the day's reporting time and the coordinator's number helps large groups stay together.
Restaurants and banquet halls attached to hotels can use the same templates for table reservations and wedding or conference bookings. One header across all outlets keeps your brand familiar to guests from booking until the final bill.
When to add WhatsApp and RCS for travellers
WhatsApp is ideal for sharing e-tickets, hotel vouchers, itineraries and a live chat with the front desk. Many international guests use it daily. RCS lets Android users see your hotel name, logo and buttons for directions or calls. Keep SMS for confirmations and urgent changes, because it works without internet in remote hill stations and on roaming phones.

We also send SMS and WhatsApp messages to customers abroad, with help on each country's sender ID and consent rules.

Frequently asked questions
Can hotels send booking confirmations to DND numbers?
Yes. A booking confirmation is a service message because it relates to a reservation the guest made. With an approved -S template it reaches DND numbers at any hour. A holiday package offer to past guests is promotional and must go only to consented or non-DND numbers between 10am and 9pm.
How do we reach foreign guests by SMS?
Indian DLT routes only cover Indian mobile numbers. For guests with overseas numbers, we activate international SMS routes, which are priced on request by country. Many international guests also prefer WhatsApp, which we offer through the WhatsApp Business API with templates for confirmations and check-in details.
Can a bus operator send delay alerts late at night?
Yes. Delay and cancellation alerts are service messages and are not limited to the 10am to 9pm window, which applies only to promotional SMS. Use an approved template with variables for the bus number, new time and boarding point so you can send alerts quickly when plans change.
Should we ask for feedback by SMS?
A short feedback SMS with a link to your own review or survey page works well when sent within a day of checkout. Use a whitelisted domain for the link. Keep it to one message and avoid repeated nudges, which guests find annoying.
What does travel SMS cost?
Domestic SMS is ₹0.20 per delivered SMS on Starter or ₹0.15 on Business, plus 18% GST, with no monthly fee. International SMS, voice and RCS are priced on request. Seasonal businesses benefit because you only pay for what you send in each month.
