SMS Alerts for Logistics and Courier Companies at Every Scan
Our SMS alerts for logistics and courier companies send pickup confirmations, in-transit updates, out-for-delivery notices, delivery OTPs and failed attempt messages from your TMS or courier software, with high-throughput API and delivery reports.

Logistics and courier companies use SMS to confirm pickups, update consignees at each hub scan, announce out-for-delivery with the rider's number, verify handover with a delivery OTP, report failed attempts and send proof of delivery. These are service or OTP messages, so they reach DND numbers at any time with approved templates.
Delivery OTP handover
Rider enters the customer's OTP to close delivery and reduce disputes.
Scan-triggered updates
Each hub scan in your TMS can fire a status SMS.
High throughput API
Up to about 10,000 SMS per second for peak dispatch hours.
Rider and fleet alerts
Send route sheets, pickup assignments and vehicle details to drivers.
What SMS alerts for logistics and courier firms should cover
A consignee who knows when the parcel is coming is far more likely to be home and to have cash ready. SMS alerts for logistics and courier companies turn each scan in your system into a useful message: pickup done, reached hub, out for delivery with the rider's name and number, delivered, or attempt failed with a reschedule link.
A regional courier serving Coimbatore, Erode and Salem can cut repeat attempts by asking the consignee to pick a slot after a failed delivery. A transport company moving yarn and fabric from Tiruppur can send lorry number, driver contact and expected arrival to the buyer's godown manager.
Route and template for each shipment message
Logistics messages are almost all service or OTP traffic.
- Pickup scheduled and picked up: service implicit, -S header.
- In transit and reached destination hub: service implicit.
- Out for delivery with rider details: service implicit, morning dispatch.
- Delivery OTP and COD amount: OTP template, sent at handover time.
- Delivery failed with reschedule link: service implicit, whitelisted URL only.

Compliance and data care for couriers
If you deliver for an ecommerce brand, decide who sends which message. When the brand sends shipping updates under its own header, avoid duplicate messages from yours. When you send under your header, mention the brand name so the consignee recognises the parcel.
Do not include full delivery addresses or the contents of a parcel in an SMS. Mask the consignee name if the message may go to an alternate number. Tracking links must use your own whitelisted domain. Rider phone numbers in templates should be registered call-back numbers where your DLT portal requires it.
Using delivery reports at AWB level
Each SMS you send returns a message ID, and our webhook later tells you whether it was delivered, failed or is still pending. Store this against the AWB in your TMS. When a consignee says they never got an update, your support team can see the exact status and time.
Watch for patterns. A high failure rate for one shipper's consignees usually means bad phone data at order entry. Share that report with the shipper so they fix their checkout form. Compare first-attempt delivery success for consignees who received an out-for-delivery SMS against those who did not, using your own scan data, to see where messages help most.
For B2B freight, send the consignee's store or warehouse manager the vehicle number and driver contact when the truck leaves your hub. Fewer calls asking where the load is means your control room can focus on exceptions and delays.
Adding WhatsApp, RCS and voice for deliveries
WhatsApp lets the consignee share a live location pin, choose a delivery slot or upload an ID for high-value parcels. RCS shows a branded card with a Track button on Android phones. For rural consignees who do not read SMS, an automated voice call before delivery can confirm they are home. Keep SMS for the delivery OTP, because OTPs must reach the person on any phone, with or without data.
Sending outside India too?
We also send SMS and WhatsApp messages to customers abroad, with help on each country's sender ID and consent rules.
How it works
Map your scan events
List the TMS statuses that need a customer or driver message.
Register status and OTP templates
One template per status, with AWB, rider, time slot and OTP variables.
Integrate the API
Call our REST API from your TMS on each scan and store DLR webhooks per AWB.
Set up driver messaging
Create a separate sub-account and template set for internal rider and fleet alerts.
Frequently asked questions
How does a delivery OTP work by SMS?
When the parcel goes out for delivery, your system generates a short OTP and sends it to the consignee by SMS. The rider asks for the OTP at handover and enters it in the delivery app. A matching OTP closes the delivery, which gives you proof that the right person received the parcel.
Can courier alerts go to DND numbers?
Yes. Shipment status messages and delivery OTPs relate to a parcel the person is expecting, so they are service or OTP traffic and can reach DND numbers at any time. Each message must match an approved template, so register one per status with the right variables.
Can your platform handle peak dispatch volumes?
Our platform has direct connectivity to Jio, Airtel, Vi and BSNL over 6+ redundant routes and can handle up to about 10,000 SMS per second. Courier firms with large morning dispatch batches should talk to us about Enterprise pricing and an SLA.
Can we send SMS to our delivery riders as well?
Yes. Rider assignments, route sheets and shift alerts can be sent as service messages to your own staff. We suggest a separate sub-account and template set for internal messages, so reports for customer alerts and staff alerts stay separate and your operations team can track rider messages on their own.
What is the cost of courier SMS alerts?
SMS is billed per delivered message at ₹0.20 on Starter or ₹0.15 on Business, plus 18% GST. A courier sending several status updates per parcel usually reaches Business or Enterprise volume quickly. There is no monthly platform fee, and plans start at 5,000 SMS.
