Malayalam is sent as Unicode, which allows 70 characters per part, or 67 when the message is split. Malayalam uses many combined letters, and each one can count as two or three characters, so messages run longer than they look. An Onam greeting like "ഓണാശംസകൾ! എല്ലാ ഉൽപ്പന്നങ്ങൾക്കും 20% കിഴിവ്." fits in one part, but a longer offer may need two.
